Flag Day plans include destruction of damaged U.S. flags

Veterans are making plans for Flag Day. American Legion Roscoe Enloe Post 5 will host a Flag Day ceremony at 5 p.m. June 14 at its site, 1423 Tanner Bridge Road.

The event will include Sea Cadets presenting the colors, the VFW Honor Guard conducting a 21-gun salute, Taps and ceremonial burning of damaged flags.

Damaged U.S. flags may be dropped off in a collection bin outside the post any time.

The event will also include hot dogs, chili and chips, provided in the main hall following the ceremony.
