Services to close for Memorial Day

Because of Monday's Memorial Day holiday, federal, state, county and city offices will be closed except for emergency services.

Most financial institutions and many businesses will be closed.

JeffTran, Jefferson City's transit system, will not operate, and the U.S. Postal Service won't provide regular home deliveries.

The Missouri River Regional Library in Cole and Osage counties and the Daniel Boone Regional Library in Boone and Callaway counties will be closed today and Monday. The Heartland Regional Library in Miller and Maries counties will be closed Monday.

Republic Services' office will be closed, and daily Jefferson City trash and recycling collections will be pushed back one day.

Jefferson City's yard waste drop-off at 2417 Southridge Drive will be closed.

The News Tribune offices will be closed Monday, and there will be no Monday edition. Regular office hours will resume Tuesday.
