Missouri:

Sarah Linthacum, but the pass was knocked into the hands of a cutting Hansen, who finished the layup at the shot clock buzzer to put Missouri up 9-7, the lead it would not give back.

They were the first of Hansen’s 22 points on a 9-for-16 night shooting.

“When you work so hard on your craft and things just aren’t falling for you, it’s hard,” Pingeton said. “You try a lot of things from a psychological standpoint. She’s so invested and she wants it so bad. … She continued to fight and battle and I thought her shot selection tonight, other than that one deep 3, was really good.”

Including the two points to tie at 7, Missouri finished the quarter on a 21-5 run through the final 6:08, hitting its final four shots along the way, to create a 26-12 lead at the first break.

The second quarter was more of the same for the Tigers, with Missouri extending as far as a 19-point lead after Hansen took a swing pass from Dembele for a left-wing 3 to make it 37-18. Missouri’s defense held Vanderbilt to an 0-for-6 stretch and no field goals in the previous 4:02 before one of Hansen’s four total 3s.

Vanderbilt cut the lead as close as 13 at 37-24 and 39-26 after Ciaja Harbison hit a layup for two of her game-high 26 points, with 2:47 left, but the Tigers took a 43-27 lead into halftime.

Vanderbilt started the third quarter hot, using a 9-4 run to cut the lead to 47-36 after a Marnelle Garraud 3 with 7:01 left, but Missouri hit eight consecutive shots, while forcing four consecutive misses, to build a 10-0 run after a Frank 3 from the right wing off one of Hansen’s four assists. The run put Missouri up 68-44 with 24 seconds left before the Tigers went into the final break up 68-46.

“I loved the pace we played with,” Pingeton said. “Early on, our offense was a little stagnant … after that, we were really intentional about our ball movement and played with great pace.”

Missouri maintained about a 20-point lead through the fourth, but Vanderbilt cut it as close as 84-69 with 1:32 left against Missouri’s backups.

Along with Frank and Hansen’s offensive performances, Sara-rose Smith added a career-high 16 points on 6-of6 shooting with two 3s, while bringing down five rebounds.

Missouri (15-8, 4-6 SEC) will look to continue its hot offense when it hosts Alabama at 4 p.m. Sunday.
