Cigna’s earnings checkup

Health insurer Cigna Corp. reports its latest quarterly financial results today.

Analysts expect that Cigna’s profit grew from a year ago along with more membership gains. The growth likely slowed from the third quarter in 2022, though. Rival Unitedhealth’s results showed membership growth, especially from its Medicare Advantage business, which offers privately run versions of the government’s Medicare program mainly for people 65 and older.
