Dorothy Yeager, executive director at OATS Transit, was honored recently for 35 years of service with the company.

OATS Transit is a not-for-profit corporation that has provided public transportation in Missouri since 1971. Headquartered in Columbia, the company serves 87 counties in the state.

Yeager started at OATS in 1987 as communications assistant. She held the positions of administrative services director and assistant executive director before being appointed as executive director in July 2012. She has an associate degree in communications from State Fair Community College and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri.

——— CVS Health recently installed time-delay safes in all of its 207 Missouri pharmacies, including those in Target and Schnucks stores, as well as 800 locations across 13 states. Time-delay safes are proven to deter pharmacy robberies by electronically delaying the time it takes for pharmacy staff to open the safe and access controlled substances.

The company first implemented the technology in 2015 in CVS Pharmacy locations across Indianapolis, resulting in a 70 percent decline in pharmacy robberies. Since then, the company has introduced time-delay safes across 32 states and the District of Columbia, resulting in a 50 percent decline in robberies at those locations.

Mediacom Communications is offering $60,000 in scholarship support for high school seniors who plan to obtain further education. The program will award $1,000 scholarships to 60 students.

Scholarship recipients can use the financial awards to support post-secondary college costs or vocational training in the fall of 2023. Award selection is based on academic achievement and leadership accomplishments.
