Eldon High School celebrates Homecoming

Eldon High School celebrated Homecoming Oct. 4-8 with the theme “City Nights and Friday Lights.”

Spirit days included “‘Merica Monday,” “Tropical Tacky Tourist Tuesday,” “Western Midwest Wednesday,” “Layover Thursday” and “Maroon and Gold Friday.”

The Homecoming court are: Homecoming Queen Amya Brisbin, who is the child of Matt Brisbin and Megan Dziadosz. She is active in Drama Club, Speech and Debate, band, Science Club and science research. She received gold at state for a flute solo, scored 31 on the ACT, qualified for National Catholic Forensic League nationals for speech and debate, and is a professional actor at The Jolly Rogers. After high school, she plans to attend Missouri University of Science and Technology to major in nuclear chemistry.

Caroline Beckmann, who is the daughter of Brent and Jessica Beckmann, is involved in Future Business Leaders of America, Science Club, Health Occupations, track and field, Missouri Juniors Club Volleyball, Ninth Street Christian Church Youth Group and National Honor Society where she serves as president. She was also on the district championship volleyball team in 2020 where she received alldistrict, all-conference, all-state and academic all-state honors. She was named the 2020 MVP of the Tri-County Conference and has made the All-American list for volleyball. She was also a state medalist for track, holds the school record for triple jump and 4x400-meter relay and has earned summa cum laude throughout high school. After high school, she plans to attend a four-year university and dental school to specialize in orthodontics.

Grace Petet, who is the daughter of Sean Petet and Christie Martin, is the chapter and district president of FBLA, the reporter for National Honor Society, an executive officer in Student Council and a member of National English Honor Society, Science Club and the varsity golf and varsity basketball teams. She was a part of the back-to-back district championships for golf and was on the district championship team for basketball. She was a state qualifier and received All-State Academic and all-district honors for golf. She placed first at districts in insurance and risk management for FBLA, attended Missouri Scholars Academy and Missouri Girls State where she was elected associate county commissioner, and has earned summa cum laude throughout high school. After high school, she plans to attend the University of North Carolina to major in biochemistry in the prepharmacy program.

Emilie Reynolds, who is the daughter of Chris and Bobbi Jo Reynolds, is the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America president; National English Honor Society vice president of public relations; Student Council senior class vice president, and FBLA district parliamentarian. She is also active in National Honor Society, Science Club and HOSA-Future Health Professionals. She is a former FFA junior historian, was in the Chamber Choir for two years and was the 2018 Miss Teen Miller County. She was also a member of the FFA conduct team that placed second in the nation. She placed second in state for FFA creed speaking and received the Top Chairman in the Nation award and Star Greenhand Award in FFA. She was also appointed commissioner of education at Missouri Girls State. After high school, she plans to attend the University of Central Missouri to double major in secondary education and international studies with plans to become a high school history teacher.

Chloe Ruark, who is the daughter of Boyd and Chandra Ruark, is a member of FFA and FCCLA and attends New Life Barnett Church. She has been on the traveling club Warriors Softball Team for the past two years where she has received many awards. She is also a former Art Club member. She has lettered in softball and track, and received second team all-district for softball and all-conference for high jump. After high school, Chloe plans to attend a four-year university to play softball and pursue a degree in early childhood education.

Homecoming King Porter Asbury, who is the son of Tyler and Mandy Asbury, is involved in football, Speech and Debate, Drama Club and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He is also vice president of Chamber Choir where he was named to the All-District honor choir. He attends Ninth Street Christian Church. After high school, he plans to attend a four-year university to pursue a degree in education.

Dallas Hardy, who is the son of Crystal Ward, Shane Stanley and Joseph Hardy, is involved with football, baseball and FFA, and attends New Life Assembly of God. After high school, he plans to attend Missouri Welding Institute.

Nicky Martonfi, who is the son of Steven and Robin Martonfi, is involved in football, basketball, track, National Honor Society, National English Honor Society, the Eldon Dolphins Swim Team, band where he is the drum major and Student Council where he serves as student body president. He attends Ninth Street Christian Church. He was selected for Missouri Scholars Academy, received Academic All-State for football and earned summa cum laude of his class. After high school, he plans to attend the U.S. Naval Academy to pursue an occupation as an engineer.

Baylor Pearson, who is the son of Jason and Justina Pearson, is active in football and track and attends Ninth Street Christian Church. He received first team all-district and third team all-conference in defensive back for football. After high school, he plans to attend Missouri State Technical College in Linn.

Bryce Veach, who is the son of Ashley and Larry Crews and Sam and Lassie Veach, is involved in football and basketball. After high school, he plans to attend a four-year university to pursue a degree in criminal justice.
