About Aesop
Aesop was a storyteller. He lived about 2,500 years ago in ancient Greece. His favorite story to tell was a fable. A fable is a very short story with a moral, or a lesson to teach.
Aesop’s fable The Fox and the Grapes tells about a fox who tries and tries to reach grapes on a high branch. Embarassed by being unable to jump high enough to reach them, the fox walks off angrily, saying loudly that the grapes are sour and not worth the effort anyway.
