William "Bill" Nibbelink, age 68, of Kansas City, Mo., passed away peacefully on Friday, July 23, 2021, at North Care HospiceNorth Kansas City Hospital after a brief battle with lung cancer. Bill was born on July 16, 1953, the son of Wayne Roy and Vera Joyce (Hagan) Nibbelink. He was raised in Columbia, Mo., where he was baptized as a child at Bethany Baptist Church. Bill had a deep faith and he was a witness to others by sharing his faith and love of Christ. Bill attended Hickman High school where he graduated in 1971. Bill then attended both Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Mo., and University of Missouri, Columbia. Bill was a hard worker. He took up the opportunity to follow his dad's footsteps working at Sherwin-Williams paint store and also worked for Valspar Corporation as a traveling salesman. Bill then owned and operated Accents Paint and Wallpaper in Jefferson City. After he left the paint business, he worked for many cleaning supply companies, retiring from Brulin Holding Company in 2018. His most recent employment was working for Enterprise Car Rental where he transported cars from the airport to numerous satellite offices. The friends he made at Enterprise became like family. Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, target shooting and anything that involved the outdoors. He also loved singing old gospel tunes and cooking and baking for his family gatherings. He relished the time he spent with his grandkids, watching them play in the band or at baseball games. Bill, more than anything, loved and cherished his family and the time he spent with them. Bill is survived by his three daughters, Jennifer Carroll (Andy) of Jefferson City, Mo., Amanda Ferguson (Adam) of Lee's Summit, Mo., and Ashley Coates (Joe) of Jefferson City, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Matthew and Kylie Ferguson, Nathan and Will Carroll, and Gage, Lillian and Amelia Coates; brother, Larry Nibbelink (Judy) of Kansas; a sister, Sue Jackson (Wade) of Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and greatnephews. Bill was preceded in death by his parents. A Visitation will be held at Freeman Mortuary from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 29, 2021. Graveside services and inurnment will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 30, 2021, at Memorial Park Cemetery in Columbia, Mo. with the Reverend Rod Maples and the Reverend Randy Buffington officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Alzheimer's Association or the American Cancer Society.
