Michael Dean "PeeWee" Forck, 75, of Jefferson City, passed away on Monday, July 26, 2021, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. He was born on September 13, 1945, in Jefferson City, a son of the late Cletus and Sabena (Kerperin) Forck. PeeWee was united in marriage on February 8, 1969, to Mary Jane Amend at St. Peter Catholic Church in Jefferson City. PeeWee attended Forest Hill and St. Francis Xavier schools. He was a 1963 graduate of Fatima High School and attended Lincoln University. He served his country in the United States Army. PeeWee was a lifelong farmer and served as Cole County Commissioner from 1995 through 2008. PeeWee never met a stranger and believed in giving back to his community. He devoted countless hours to the volunteer service, which we all believe truly has made Jefferson City, Cole County and the State of Missouri a better place to live and work. A few of the organizations that PeeWee donated his time to were: Cole Junction Levee District, Liberty Fire Benevolent Society, Capital Region Center Medical Center, Learning in Retirement, Jefferson City Chamber of Commerce, Missouri Association of Counties, National Association of Counties, 911 Commission, Cole County 4-H, Cole County Extension Council, Cole County Farm Bureau Board, State and Local Board of MFA, Farm Credit Services Board, Blair Oaks School Board, Taos Knights of Columbus, American Legion, Eagles, Lions Club, Taos Volunteer Fire Department, American Heart Association, American Red Cross blood donor and numerous other organizations. He was a firm believer in his Catholic faith and his life was truly centered around his family. PeeWee and Mary Jane attended as many of their grandchildren's events being the loudest and proudest supporter in the crowd. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Mary Jane; children: Keith B. Forck and his wife Sonya of Jefferson City, Kelly R. Forck and his wife Teri Deffenbaugh of Jefferson City, and Kimberly K. Barbour and her husband Don of Jamestown; grandchildren: Victoria Forck, Trevor (Claire) Barbour, Mariah (Matt) Speiss, Nathanial Forck, Trenton Barbour, Meagan Forck, Morgan Forck, Travis Barbour, Van Keaton Forck, and Von Kingston Forck; siblings: Mary Lee "Tissy" Bax, William "Bill" (Shirley) Forck and Darlene "Dada" (Bob) Reed . In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother: Franklin "Jack" Forck; one sister and her husband: Betty Sue "Nooky" and Ken Klebba; and brother-in-law: Steve Bax. Friends will be received from 3:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 30, 2021, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Taos with a rosary at 2:30 p.m. Additional visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 31, 2021, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 31, 2021, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with Fr. Michael Penn officiating. Interment with Full Military Honors will immediately follow in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery. The family requests stories and photos of PeeWee be shared with them at [email protected]. Per PeeWee's wishes in lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Heart Association, Central Missouri Honor Flight or St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.
