Ice Arena to reopen next week

The Washington Park Ice Arena is scheduled to reopen the beginning of next week after about a month of being closed.

At the end of June, the arena experienced flooding. After the floodwater was removed, the ice needed to be relayed, which takes several weeks.

Staff on Tuesday said the arena will be ready to reopen Sunday, pending any unforeseen equipment issues.
